It’s difficult to express just how proud we are of the rowing team and their achievement here at Momentum. A Guinness World Record is obviously an unbelievable accomplishment but the hard work, sacrifice and teamwork they showed to get over the line was nothing short of heroic.
The training was exhausting. Countless hours were devoted to time in the rowing seat at both gyms and home gyms. A nutritionist was consulted to offer advice on proper fuelling for both recovery and performance. Bespoke training programs were written to ensure the team were ready for the big day.
Rowers carried a unique mental strain whilst taking part too.
“The fear of letting the team down is huge. Not just on the day but on the lead up. Trying to balance putting everything into my training but also not getting injured is a big deal.” Georgie – Row Team
The planning and work behind the scenes to make sure it was all official was an amazing feat of logistical work. But despite every challenge, setback and test – We pulled it off.
There were so many moving pieces and individuals that played their part in making this team effort happen. We’re so grateful to each and everyone of them for their hard work and sacrifice. We proudly stand behind our Guinness World Record holders and the difference their fundraising made to our PB-Active Project.
By rowing a million metres in a world record breaking time, they raised a staggering total of £72,522.11
