“My brother told me how helpful Momentum Fitness Charity has been for him and my niece so it was the least I could do!” – Matt Farrell

On Saturday 15th November 2025, Momentum Fitness Charity was represented on the other side of the world.

Spectacular landscapes, sparkling lakes and unforgettable experiences. This is why the race in Queenstown New Zealand is known as the world’s most beautiful marathon. And where Matt Farrell ran for us to support his niece.

Lola was just six years old when she started her fully funded sessions through our PB-Active programme (add link to PB page)

These sessions provide access to fitness for children battling cancer and help them rebuild strength, confidence and a sense of normal life during and after treatment.

“I cannot tell you how amazing it was to watch Lola in the gym. Thank you so much for working with us and aiding in her recovery from this awful disease.” – Aisha, Lola’s mum.

Lola’s journey of returning to the things she loved and rediscovering play through fitness is incredible. Her story is exactly what drove Matt to fundraise for us almost 12,000 miles away.

Through his run, Matt raised over £1,000 to support Momentum Fitness Charity’s work. His funding will help provide. Equipment for children to use during exercise sessions. Trained exercise therapists to deliver them. And access to more sessions for the children who need them most.

Because every child battling cancer deserves the chance to rebuild their confidence. And every young person deserves a chance to return to the things they loved before treatment.

Everyone at Momentum Fitness Charity would like to say a huge thank you to Matt for his unbelievable effort and support. His fundraising makes such a huge difference to what we’re able to provide.
